Его уникальный и чрезвычайно экстраординарный особняк, как следует из последних слухов, был восстановлен и заново отделан, после чего выставлен на рынок аренды престижного жилья. Его месячная стоимость составляет шестнадцать с половиной тысяч долларов. Нынешний владелец особняка приобрел данную достопримечательность Лос-Анджелеса в 2010 году у продессюра и коммерческого директора Джо Питка за 2,335 миллиона долларов.
Grafted to a hillside overlooking the Fern Dell Nature Center in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz, the midcentury gem and historic-cultural landmark was built in 1922 and represents one of the earliest works by the esteemed architect and son of Frank Lloyd Wright. Stucco siding accented by ribbed redwood siding gives the house a distinctive outward appearance, while intricate leaded glass hints at Mayan influences associated with many of Wright’s later designs.
Inside, a double-height living room and a tiered design give the 2,255-square-foot floor plan a voluminous feel, and the redwood finishes found on the exterior façade trickle through the interiors as detailed ceiling molding and trim. In all, the Taggart House has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a formal dining room and an office. Outside, a stone walkway leads down to a hidden pool area amid landscaped grounds.
The listing comes after a pair of Lloyd Wright designs in the Los Angeles area changed hands in December 2013. In the Chevy Chase neighborhood of Glendale, CA, the Derby House with its concrete-textile-block designs sold for $1.59 million. The Gainsburg House, a midcentury masterpiece in La Cañada Flintridge sold for $1.875 million.
